Project phases:
Phase 1 - Energy Audit - the energy consumption of the store and of the installed electrical equipment was evaluated, and later an audit report was produced where 7 measures were proposed to improve the energy efficiency of the building, which offer a relevant total saving, estimated at 52.9% of the total consumption of this store;
Phase 2 - Dynamic Simulation - the store's thermal envelope and consumption conditions were verified and a dynamic simulation model used as a basis for comparison by applying the proposed improvement measures was applied;
Phase 3 - Clustering and Benchmarking - in all stores of the Leroy Merlin portfolio in Portugal a characterization of the energy efficiency level was developed, grouping the different stores by typology, according to their size, and by geographic/climatic zone;
Phase 4 - Good practices manual - A catalog of good practices applied to Leroy Merlin retail stores was developed, which includes 34 energy efficiency measures, ranging from technological solutions to operational indications for reducing energy consumption.
