A total of 750 photovoltaic panels make up Helexia's recent project on the roof of Alliance Healthcare in Alverca.
With an installed capacity of 400MWp, this plant produces 600 MWh of solar energy per year for self-consumption, and will contribute to a greener operation by reducing 281 tons of CO2 per year. Energy production will be optimized by a 10-year maintenance contract provided by Helexia.
Energy transition at Alliance Healthcare
We are proud to be part of Alliance Healthcare's commitment to energy transition. This plant will allow Alliance Healthcare to save on energy bills, be less dependent on the electricity grid and increase the value of its property in Alverca, while contributing to a low-carbon economy.
Portugal has made a commitment to the energy transition towards carbon neutrality with the Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality 2050 (RNC2050) and the PNEC2030. With ambitious but achievable targets, it seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and consolidate a competitive, resilient and low-carbon economy. One of these targets is to achieve 47% of energy from renewable sources by 2030, taking advantage of the country's high solar energy potential, which has around 300 days of sunshine a year. Companies should follow this strategy and consider implementing photovoltaic plants for self-consumption, along with energy efficiency and consumption reduction measures.
